Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to volunteer!

Volunteering with FIRST Robotics is an enriching way to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. You can mentor a team, assist with event planning, provide technical and non-technical support during competitions, or offer your expertise in workshops. Each role is crucial in supporting students as they embark on exciting STEM journeys. You can also opt-in to be contacted for help by other teams nearby.

How to Register for Events

Registering as a volunteer for the FIRST Robotics Competition is a straightforward process. Start by visiting the official FIRST Volunteer Portal, where you can create an account or log in. Once you're in, you'll be able to browse through available events and select the ones you're interested in volunteering for. After choosing your events, you'll receive communications from event coordinators about available roles and any necessary training. This training ensures you are well-prepared and confident in your role, whether it’s mentoring a team, setting up the event, or managing logistics. As the event date approaches, you'll receive further instructions and schedules to help you plan your participation smoothly.

Opt-In to be Contacted by Other Teams!

FIRST in Vermont offers a unique opportunity for teams to "opt-in" to be contacted by other teams in need of assistance or mentorship within the area. This initiative is especially critical for rookie teams, who often face challenges during their first season. By leaning on each other for support, teams can share knowledge and resources, ensuring no team is left behind. Contact us to let us know that you or your team is willing to share knowledge and resources with others!
